Our Story

Veterans Memorial Park in Crawfordsville, Indiana, was created to honor the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. It stands as a place of remembrance, education, and community pride.

The park features several historic military artifacts, including a 1969 Huey Helicopter, an M110 Howitzer, an M42 Duster, and a WWII Japanese anti-aircraft gun—each representing different eras of service and sacrifice. At the heart of the park is a granite memorial with a bronze statue of a soldier, and a flag display that proudly symbolizes the freedoms veterans have fought to protect.

A large mural celebrates the history of the U.S. military, and engraved bricks allow visitors to permanently honor loved ones who have served. The park also hosts events and educational programs throughout the year to help preserve the stories and sacrifices of our veterans.

Located on South Washington Street, between Byron Cox Post 72 and the National Guard Armory, the park is open year-round.

Honor a Hero:
Purchase a Commemorative Brick

Be a part of Crawfordsville Veterans Memorial Park by purchasing a commemorative brick to honor a veteran, loved one, or organization. Each brick is a lasting tribute, placed within the park’s 7,000-brick memorial circle, ensuring their service is never forgotten.

Veteran’s Memorial Park not only recognizes the sacrifices of our veterans, but is a priceless gift to future generations, helping them frame the life of freedom we all enjoy in context with the very real cost of making it possible.  I truly believe it has been constructed in a manner that allows those who follow after us to learn in a way that, we all hope, possibly lowers the human cost of that freedom for their generations.  We all owe a debt of gratitude to those who’ve worked tirelessly to make this impactful tribute possible.

Mayor Todd Barton
